Botanical watercolors inspired by the Wasatch Mountains

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been captivated by plants. From learning the characteristics of trees and understory plants from my dad, to helping my mamaw with her flower garden, to picking vegetables with my mom, I’ve always found beauty and curiosity in the plants around me.

When a friend gifted me watercolor supplies I became obsessed with trying to capture the details and personalities of the plants around me. From Spring’s first crocus timidly peeking its purple head out from between the blades of grass in my backyard, to the explosive abundance of a high alpine wildflower meadow, I find inspiration all around me in the plant life that sustains our world.
